Ethel Backenstose – West Grove, PA

Ethel Backenstose's inspiration and passion for painting comes from local landscapes and scenes from vacations as well as still-lifes and flowers, which she enjoys creating in oil, watercolor, or mixed medium.
    She began as a self-taught artist but later studied under other Chester County, PA artists, taking a number of workshops. She participates in juried shows, has had solo shows, and has been the recipient of several awards.
    Ethel is a member of the Chester County Art Association, Artists' Circle, and Healing Arts. Her paintings can be found in many private and public collections.
