Alberto Becerra
Alberto A. Becerra was born in Bogota, Columbia, South America. In 1963 Alberto and his family migrated to the United States. During his junior high school years, he developed a deep interest in art. Determined to becoming an artist, he studied art for nine consecutive years. His art career was enhanced by his European travels. Greater motivation came when he returned to South America in 1977 and realized the richness of his culture. He has shared this enthusiasm with Philadelphia and other East Coast cities through his paintings, murals, and special projects that reflect a positive attitude and a strong commitment to the cultural development of the city. Alberto has collectively shared his art, culture and ideas with artists from different countries. This sharing has not affected his strength as an individual artist. He is best known for his MUSIGRAPHY and the CARITAS series exhibit. He may be contacted at albartista@yahoo.com.
