Project 2009-2010
Cooper University Hospital

Healing Art Works is teaming with Cooper University Hospital in Camden, NJ, to place donated,
original art in patient care locations. Each year, over 25,000 patients are admitted to Cooper for exceptional medical care. With its comprehensive services and cutting-edge technology, the
hospital is renowned for its prestigious Signature Programs in cardiology, cancer, critical care,
trauma, orthopaedics, and neurology.
Cooper recently opened its new Pavilion, with beautiful amenities including all-private patient
rooms, spacious family waiting areas, and soothing color palates complemented by natural light.
Additional campus inpatient locations include the Kelemen and Dorrance buildings, which are
receiving extensive physical upgrades to achieve the optimum patient experience.
As a "Planetree" hospital, Cooper is focused on patient- and family-centered care. This approach
to healthcare promotes mental, emotional, spiritual, social, and physical healing. It empowers patients
and families through the exchange of information and encourages healing partnerships with
caregivers. The objective is to maximize positive healthcare outcomes by integrating optimal medical
therapies and incorporating art and nature into the healing environment.
Healing Art Works believes the value of original works of art will complement Cooper's initiatives
to highlight art throughout its patient buildings in order to enhance patient, family, and staff experiences.
