Luz Selenia Salas

LuzSalenia Salas was born in San Sebastian, Puerto Rico. Her family migrated to Philadelphia in the late 1950's. Her photographic interests began in her high school years. Her interest extends beyond the visual experience motivated by the urban environmental changes of the last three decades. She has captured the diversity of “everyday people” with consistency. In her imagery she expresses feelings with understanding and a level of compassion. Luz enjoys cultural events and uses these key platforms to continue to strengthen her photographic ability. Today, Luz uses her camera as a fine art tool to express the new. In her contemporary settings and ongoing development of her work, the artist brings to the professional foreground photographic images that reflect her life through self-portrait experience.
