C. Scott Wessel

Scott Wessel started painting seriously in 2003. He had many good art teachers as a high school student, but is mainly self-taught. He was born in 1972 in Richmond, Indiana. He has sold several paintings to private collectors. Scott recognizes the healing power of art. This is why he wanted to donate a piece of artwork to Healing Art Works. Scott is married to Alison. She supports his creative endeavors, but does get frustrated when his creativity spills over on the carpet. He also has two children: Lily, who is nine and Austin, who is six. He includes his kids in many of his artworks. Scott works as an assistant principal in a middle school. He paints when he can. He would love to paint for a living, but likes to eat too much. Scott paints mainly in oil. He especially likes to do abstracts, landscapes and is working on portraiture.
