Lyn Marsh — Shiremanstown, PA

Lyn is a native of Berks County, PA and her interest in art was nourished throughout her childhood and school years, studying with private tutors. Later, she attended the Wyomissing Institute of Fine Art. Since her move to the Harrisburg area, she has studied with nationally recognized artists, attending many workshops.
    Lyn has been involved with the art community for many years. She has served as a Board member or officer of several local art organizations. As a charter/founding member of the Pennsylvania Watercolor Society, she has served in various official capacities, currently as its President.
    "Art is my way of embracing the world around me," Lyn says. Her paintings have received numerous awards and enjoy the privilege of having been included in many group and solo shows. Her work is diverse, but always involves her love of color, expression of light and shadow, composition, and design. Often her paintings share a fondness for things from the past. She claims, "Older things have character, be it a chair well worn with use, or a fence slightly askew with peeling paint, or fruit nestled in cracked ironstone."
