Alyce Ritti – University Park, PA

Currently tiny surreal collages dominate my art-making. They have not yet given me permission to return to painting. But recently and in general I work in two very different ways–large “expressionistic botanicals” of which Berry Blue is an example and tiny collage montage pieces. When I was very young, visual art was a large part of my life and has become so again, ever since we moved to a perch on Bald Eagle Ridge in Central PA. In the intervening years, there were “other things” such as one husband, 4 children, numerous dogs and 3 academic degrees. I have a PhD. From Columbia University (NYC).Courses at the School of Visual Arts at Penn State (University Park) spruced up my “studio skills.” My paintings and collages have received national attention. My collages are also noticed in Europe. My paintings have been emotional but my collage/montage work is intellectual.  So as an artist I am a whole person. As a person, I am a cranky old lady with a cane.
